Plain Style

Area: 950 sqm

This project was a collaboration between myself and Spring Breeze Design.

This project reinterprets the essence of traditional landscape painting within a contemporary urban residential setting. Through the techniques of "borrowed scenery" and "opposing views," it ensures that residents—whether strolling through the garden or gazing out from indoors—are met with picturesque vistas at every turn.

The front courtyard centers around a naturalistic stacked-stone and cascading water feature. Expansive, flat paving contrasts with the wild charm of the water element, where rough stones of varying heights form a miniature mountain from which a clear spring falls into a tranquil pool.

The backyard opens up to an expansive view, seamlessly connecting with the natural lake beyond. A large lawn dotted with strategically placed trees (such as late-blooming cherry and ginkgo) creates a seasonal tapestry that evolves throughout the year. A low stone wall subtly delineates private from public space, maintaining visual continuity while ensuring a sense of residential seclusion.
